a few years ago I read Tess Gerritsen's The Surgeon and I remember that I liked enough: it was a perfect reading umbrella just like this one's blood is revealed a potential for a dreary Sunday to spend more total idleness. In this fourth novel in the series Rizzoli & Isles I found the detective Jane Rizzoli, the eighth month of pregnancy, and medical examiner Maura Isles (real star here), which together will hunt for a serial killer who kidnaps pregnant women. Dr Isles will begin to investigate his past and his real family after a woman identical to her is found dead outside his house.

The Geritssen before turning to writing practiced the profession medical and reflected in his novels that his past experience: autopsies are well described, the characters the plots are well defined and linked. The writing is smooth and the result is a pleasant read.

Certainly not a masterpiece, but it's blood proved to be a novel and exciting with a nice final plot twist that reveals nothing.
